Privacy Policy

This policy explains how SOONSOON SOFTWARE LTD. (“SoonSoon”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use our website soonsoon.ca and our apps, including MindAtom and Bistory (the “Services”). We are based in British Columbia, Canada, and handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

Account information. If you create an account (for example, for MindAtom cloud documents), we collect your email address and basic profile details you choose to provide, or the identifier returned by a sign-in provider such as Apple, Google or Microsoft.
Content you create. Documents you store in the cloud or share with others are stored so we can sync and show them to you and the people you share with. Content you keep only in local files stays on your device.
Reading progress and settings. Apps may sync settings, bookmarks or reading progress so they follow you across devices. Where possible this uses an anonymous identifier rather than your name or email.
Purchases. Purchases made in an app store are processed by Apple, Google or Microsoft. Purchases on our website are processed by our reseller and payment provider (a Merchant of Record such as Paddle or Lemon Squeezy). We receive order details such as your email, country, product and transaction ID, but not your full card number.
Messages. If you email us, we keep the message and your email address to reply.
Technical data. Our servers and hosting providers keep standard logs (such as IP address, device type and time of request) for security and troubleshooting.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use it

To provide, sync and secure the Services you ask for.
To process purchases, refunds and taxes.
To answer support requests and send essential service messages (for example, sign-in codes).
To fix problems and improve the Services.
To meet legal obligations.

Service providers and storage

We use trusted providers to run the Services, such as cloud hosting, database and storage providers, content delivery networks, email delivery, and payment processors. They process data only on our instructions. Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

AI features

Some content, such as Bistory book translations and narration, is produced in advance with AI services from public-domain texts. Your personal information is not used for this.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your account data and cloud content within a reasonable time, except where we must keep records (for example, tax records).

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing admin@soonsoon.ca. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Residents of other regions (such as the EU or California) may have additional rights, and we will honour them where they apply.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and other reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your devices secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the app or by email if the changes are significant.
